Girls Gone Wild at the Girls Ground Wrestling event

This innocent passport lead my cameras and me to a very entertaining and cute evening…

Girls Ground Wrestling. What an interesting title! The organizer asked me to come and take pictures and allowed me to share some on my blog. Can I say no to such a request? No.
I didn’t exactly know what to expect, but I like to be surprised. The event took place in Club Goodman somewhere in Akihabara. After entering, the first thing I saw was a big futon in front of the stage. This seemed to be the battleground. Getting down on a pillow, I could not be any closer to the action as I soon found out.
The evening started with some MC’s and a singer, who managed to instantly get the full attention of the crowd.

Then there was the other singer, who managed to turn her body a full 180 degrees and managed to get even more of my attention…

After she was done rotating her body, the first fight started, but for some reason the “Girls Ground Wrestling” turned into a “Girls wrestle Guys” event. The poor representative of the event became the first victim.

After they were finished with him, the next girls started to fight…

…and I learned that “Girls Ground Wrestling” stands for Futon Pillow Fight! :)
Sitting in the first row got the audience into some interesting interaction with the fighters.

The fight got harder and harder…

…and more brutal.

Do we see a winner here?

She definitely acts like a winner. But the fight was not over yet!

In a short break between fights, these 3 cute girls introduced themselves, they are the Micro Girl Unit “Mitochondrion” (their average height is 145cm!) and their escorting teacher Tamaki-sensei.

After the break, the entertainment program continued with these 2 “girls”…

…followed with a live Food Fighter performance. The girls managed to eat at least 5 hamburger each in record time.

Then the next fight started.

That was a tough, dynamic fight!

They fought…

…and fought…

…until one of the fighter decided to recover on my knee!

More fights.

This one was over soon.

The Micro Girl Unit and their escorting teacher Tamaki-sensei entered the stage and started with a cute performance…

…which then was followed by a fight. The Micro Girl Unit Mitochondrion against a single, tall girl. Is this fair?

No problem, they could help themselves…

…and eventually won!

After the event representative got kicked around again and lost his shirt there was another round of fighting.

After almost 2 hours of cuteness and fun, finally the grand finale.

Just to get an idea about where I was seated, I include this wide shot from my prime location just at the end of the fight futon. The majority of the audience was standing behind me.

This was the 2nd Girls Ground Wrestling event and there will be more. You can find them on their website or read a more detailed report on their blog (Japanese only).

You seem to be leading a charmed life these days!
