Ribido – A messy performance

I like Butoh performances. They are often not only intense for the actors, but also for the audience.

For this performance the Butoh group “Ribido” (which is probably a lost-in-translation version of Libido) and action painter Hiroyoshi Takeda teamed up and delivered a stunning (and messy) performance.

      That’s Butoh, everything is possible! It doesn’t always makes sense, though…the very first Butoh performance was a big scandal, because one of the guys decided to have, uhm, sex with a chicken. With this in mind, there are little surprises! ;)

        oh, well, then the daikon is pretty normal i guess ;)

        must be an interesting experience!
        here in italy we have some so-called “butoh shows”, but nothing that extreme, basically free-body dancing…
